CHRIST HAS NO BODY

In lieu of a homily on this feast of the Corpus Christi, I invite you to read the words of one of the greatest mystics and doctors of the Church, St. Teresa Avila. Her words are so true and so moving; any commentary is but footnote.

Teresa-of-Avila-660x3501

Christ has no body now,
but yours.
No hands, no feet on earth,
but yours.

Yours are the eyes
through which He looks
with compassion on this world.

Yours are the feet
with which He walks
to do good.

Yours are the hands
through which He blesses
all the world.

Yours are the hands,
yours are the feet,
yours are the eyes,
you are His body.

Christ has no body now on earth
but yours.

If you wish, listen to the words set to song by David Ogden.

Please just continue to send this kind of messages for I can use them for Religious Studies.
Many thanks for these….God bless.

Very enlighthening n truthful for as Catholics we are all members of the church of which the founder n head is Christ Himself Who is now in heaven but remains with us in the Holy Eucharist as Bread for our souls and in the Blessed Sacrament in every adoration chapel where He is always present in the form of the Blessed Host.

Dear Fr J,

Thank you so much for this timely poem. We are teaching anawims their true ID
and making them aware what is expected of them as children of God.

I will use this poem to end our seminar. Our God is truly a God of good timing.

With much love,

Mercy
