Dan Schutte’s “You Are Near”
is one of the best-known
and best-loved hymns
that we all learned growing up.
This song is based on Psalm 119
and is a prayer about the constant presence
and nearness of God.
In today’s retreat
we reflected on the distance between us and God,
and how our Lord Jesus
has done everything possible
to close any distance between us and God.
With grateful hearts,
let us pray over God’s nearness to us
made possible by the painstaking and costly redemption
that our Lord Jesus has given us.
Feel free to linger here awhile
