Watch this short introduction
to our Holy Thursday retreat.
In the last few weeks,
“social distancing” has become a buzz word.
To control the spread of the coronavirus disease,
we have been limiting our face-to-face contact
with other people:
We’ve been staying out of crowded places,
avoiding gathering in groups,
and keeping a distance
of at least six feet from others.
We can’t stress this enough.
When you think about it, however,
Holy Thursday can be read
as a story of distancing.
As we pray over some of the events
that transpired on Holy Thursday evening,
let us read between the lines
by paying attention to
how different characters created distances–
or closed them–for different reasons.
