There is a mysterious figure
in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah
that has traditionally been interpreted
to be referring to Jesus.
This figure has come to be called
“the Suffering Servant of Yahweh.”
The Suffering Servant is rejected by his people
and suffers much–
a fate so similar to our Lord’s
that these passages have been considered
as a foreshadowing of Calvary.
Note the very vivid descriptions
of this Suffering Servant..
Read these passages from Isaiah 53
slowly, mindfully, and prayerfully.
