What does it mean to wash somebody’s feet?
It certainly means humbling one’s self.
But it also means embracing someone else’s humanity,
accepting our differences,
forgiving another person’s flaws.

Because we, all of us, walk the earth.
Our feet all touch the ground.
We are all human.
To wash someone else’s feet is to say to that person:
“Here I am.
We are not too different.
I know this life we’ve been thrown into can be tiring and rough sometimes.
I understand.
Let me do what I can to give you some rest and relief.”
